AT WORK AT PLAY

Background

Lisandra joined DCI’s account coordination team in 2000 as an administrative assistant. As a natural ‘techie’, she then began learning more about DCI's information technology systems, eventually being named manager of information technology. In her new position, she has used her natural curiousity and determination to dramatically advance the company's  technology capabilities, including the management of a major software upgrade, installation of a wireless network, development of a shared laptop system and selection of an on-line media database.

Lisandra's Passion for Places

Lisandra will always have a love affair with Puerto Rico, the country from which her parents emigrated and where she has many relatives to this day. But she also enjoys exploring new destinations, such as St. Louis, with its perfect blend of "country life" and "city life," and South Carolina, with its gracious Southern hospitality.

As a native Spanish speaker, who learned English at a young age, Lisandra flows easily between these two worlds and appreciates all that American and Latin American culture have to offer.

Notable Results

• Lisandra has received advanced training in Photoshop, Access, Outlook, Excel and Powerpoint applications. She has also received certification in “The Indispensable Assistant” and “Management Skills for the New or Prospective Manager."

• Lisandra imported or created a half-dozen client groups from one computer program to another, facilitating mailings for several DCI tourism clients; in addition, on behalf of another DCI tourism client, Lisandra used her IT and design skills to create a logo for Portland, Oregon, that reflected the city and its visitor attractions.

• Lisandra's dependability, administrative savvy, curiosity and technical knowledge have contributed to the success of numerous client projects  - in many cases with various clients personally requesting her participation.
