on deadline? we can help

Perhaps you need a quote from a regional economist. Maybe you need an important interview with the governor of a rural state or the mayor of a rapidly growing city. Or you need location recommendations for a broadcast road trip.

Whatever the challenge, we can help - or at least we can try to help.

As the only public relations and marketing firm specializing exclusively in marketing places, we are a unique resource for journalists.

Here are some quick examples of how we’ve helped reporters or producers in a pinch:

• An editor with The Wall Street Journal called us with an unusual request: “Can you help me find a senior executive who has left corporate America to join the clergy?” We spun our Rolodex, searching for appropriate contacts around the country, and identified two examples; one of these individuals ultimately became the lead for the story.

•  A CNN producer called us with less than 24 hours to arrange a segment with three “big city mayors.” DCI secured the full panel. The producer still refers to our agency as “Mayors ‘R Us.”

•  A writer for The New York Times sought our help in researching a story on the growing trend of multi-generational travel. We arranged telephone interviews with a half-dozen experts. Three were quoted in her story.

We are a different breed from most public relations agencies.

Given our focus on places rather than corporations, we’re completely different from traditional public relations firms. Many of us have journalism degrees or are former reporters. We understand that when you're on deadline, you need information...well, 10 minutes ago.

As a result of our client relationships and work with places all over the world, we have a bird's-eye view and can often spot trends before they’ve been reported in the national news. We also know about big announcements, often before they’re made public.

So the next time you need something - from a source to an idea for an article - drop us a line or give us a call. We'd love to help.
