Background
As a sales-savvy marketing graduate from Western Michigan University, Nathaniel began his career working for a Michigan marketing agency focused on servicing the national golf and lifestyle industries. In order to further his professional career, he decided to take on the Big Apple and moved to New York City.
Development Counsellors International has allowed Nathaniel the opportunity to utilize his sales skills in a business development capacity servicing various city, state and international economic development and investment promotion agencies. As Director of the Prospect Development/Qualification (PDQ) division Nathaniel manages an account team that provides the highest level of service in the market. Nathaniel offers an exceptional level of sector knowledge and insight which adds value to all programs ultimately leading to capital investments and job creation.
Nathaniel also serves as the organizer, and key member, of DCI’s client development initiatives.
Nathaniel's Passion for Places
Nathaniel’s interest in experiencing new places and cultures began at an early age through annual trips to a fishing cabin in Ontario, Canada. After multiple visits to Mexico, he has gained a great appreciation of Latin American culture especially the cuisine.
Nathaniel’s true passion for places, however, actually began during a 2004 trip to Europe that covered multiple cities in the United Kingdom, France and the Netherlands. Subsequent visits to the U.K., Germany, Switzerland and the Czech Republic have satisfied his travel hunger, but Nathaniel is always planning the next trip to a new destination, where he can find new experiences, learn about the culture and meet interesting people.

• Nathaniel manages programs and relationships with all PDQ division clients, including International Business Wales, Invest in Spain, ProExport Colombia, Italian Trade Commission, Puerto Rico Industrial Development Corporation, New Jersey Economic Development Administration, Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development, Brownsville, Texas EDC, and Metro Denver EDC.
• He has increased team output nearly 80% in five years while leading the development of DCI’s internal research capabilities for both domestic and international prospecting.
• Nathaniel facilitated relationships between client organizations and high-profile corporations such as Merck & Company, Pfizer, Citigroup, JPMorgan, AIG, Church & Dwight, Motorola, PepsiCo, and Honeywell.
• As a member of IEDC and CoreNet, Nathaniel maintains strong professional relationships with location advisors and site selection consultants based all over the world.
